I am a photographer who has been working for 10 years documenting life in New York City and elsewhere.
I am primarily a social documentary photographer. I have traveled to Northern Ireland and El Salvador, both numerous times to photograph the people and their lives. In New York City I have recorded street protest extensively. I believe that these people who are making their concerns known deserve to be seen and heard. Included in this website are photo essays about the Anti-War movement, Police and Protest, Workers and Belfast.

People are my first interest. Friends, people on my block and those that I encounter provide me with a never-ending supply of subjects. The streets of New York City provide rich opportunity to photograph life. I have spent hundreds of hours out there catching the moments that unfold before me. Please see my photo essay on New York City Streets.

I cannot resist photographing beautiful scenery and people as I visit places near and far. My travels have taken me to Ireland, France, Mexico, Chile, El Salvador and many places in the United States.

My photographs have been published in The New York Times, Time Out New York, New York Magazine and the Village Voice to name a few. Photo essays have appeared in NACLA and Socialism and Democracy. I have had photographs published in several books.

In addition to photojournalism I have chronicled the work of many non profit organizations. I am seeking assignments from publications and organizations. I work primarily in New York and the Mid Atlantic but also travel when the opportunity arises. My rates are reasonable.

I have shown photographs at exhibits in New York and San Francisco and have been part of serveral group shows. If you want to order digital prints of the images on this site: email me.
